I made a detour on my road trip as soon as I saw the reviews. Without mentioning the food/service I want to highlight that it was torrentially down-pouring outside and STL was in the midst of a nationally advised flood watch but that absolutely didn't stop the community from showing up on a random Tuesday at 11:30am. I was initially shocked at the constant flow of walk-ins despite the weather... but once I got my sandwich I understood why this likely happens everyday. A bad weather day might low key be a local protip because you won't have to wait in the normal line around the block. Blues City is incredibly worth the hype!

This was my first time at Blues City Deli! It comes highly recommended. I got the chicken shack ranch, and I recommend if you're in the mood for chicken. The service was friendly and quick. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. It was fairly busy for midday and pouring rain out. Plenty of street parking Good playlist going and a fair amount of seating options. I will definitely be back!

Impressive place! Very cute blues decor and music. Driving back to Chicago, looked up a deli and were fortunate enough to stop in. The line was to the door when we walked in, but it was down the block when we left. Friendly and quick service. Ate inside. Sandwich was big and very flavorful. Meat was fresh, tomatoes thinly sliced, sauces on point. I enjoyed the 7th street Sicilian while my boyfriend had the thunderbird. Both were great sandwiches. Only problem was that the seeded french bread was a little chewy. I would love to come back and try other sandwiches. I would suggest for friends and family to check it out!

A great place for lunch, amazing sandwiches and a large selection of chips and drinks to go with your sub. My personal favorite is the reuben, but I've had the italian sub and the roast beef po boys and they're all on point. Don't be intimidated by the line outside the door! Even on an hour lunch break, the wait will be down the street but I'll have my sandwich within 30 minutes easily. Smaller area inside to eat and a good 3 or 4 tables outside with music playing, great hangout. Over my price range for an everyday lunch, but great for a once a week treat or bringing friends from out of the area.

Great deli! Completely blues themed with lots of pictures of greats on the walls. Stopped in prior to closing on a week day and they were hoppin! Tried their Benton Park sandwich and the Daddy-O with a chocolate chip cookie and almond joy cookie. Everything was fresh, delicious and they whipped it up quick! Don't sleep on the almond joy cookie- it's incredible. Great portions and fair prices. The people are wonderful too. Good amount of seating options and a few seating options outside as well. Will certainly be back!

Really good sandwich shop in a cool neighborhood not far from Busch Stadium. The staff was very helpful and sandwiches hit the spot before the Cardinals game. Had the pastrami and delta bayou and both were very good. Pro Tip: you can order 1/2 sandwiches which allows you to try more varieties!!

Amazing. Took a small detour on the cross country trip to get a sandwich here. Reviews are accurate the line moves fast. Few tables inside and about 6-7 outside so more seating than I expected. Gigi was amazing and so was the original roast beef. Glad we made this our stop in STL

What an awesome place. I ordered to go, and the sandwiches came super fast. I got the Thunderbird and Mikes Roast Beef, both were fantastic, I think I was partial to Mikes though. The restaurant is decorated with blues music memorabilia all throughout creating a really friendly and cozy atmosphere. When I go to a restaurant for the first time, I always ask whoever I'm ordering from what they think someone should get for their first visit, and the guy who helped me knew immediately what I should order. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Must try: Benton Park and The Big V Sandwiches! Why: This was my fav meal during my visit to STL! I got two sandwiches to try all to myself so got the Benton Park and The Big V. Ate half of each at the park and saved the other halves for lunch the next day, which they were still delish! The Benton Park was packed with Ham, Roast Beef, and Turkey. Loved the Provel and veggies. The Big V was packed with Hot Sopressa, Capicola and Mortadella. Loved the Fresh Mozzarella. Both sandwiches had Pepperoncini, which added great flavor and texture. The bread for both was fantastic. Washed it all down with a Fitz's Root Beer. Notes: Neat corner deli with street parking. They had a few tables inside and more tables outside since it was great weather. I took my meal to the park down the road to enjoy. Love the memorabilia and wall art. The workers were friendly and quick. Order came out in around 5 mins. When I drove by the line was nearly out the door and it was only 11:15am. When I walked up there were about 4 parties in front of me but the line goes by fast (and I got to spend time looking at the wall memorabilia). Awesome meal for great prices - highly recommend.
